House softwashing and concrete cleaning in Scappoose, OR
Will called Good Choices and asked for an estimate for his home on HWY 30 in Scappoose, OR. Before the visit I was able to look up his house on Google Street View to get a preliminary view of the siding and landscaping, since the house sits close to the highway and gets a lot of traffic-related grime.
The customer wanted to use his own cleaner, Simple Green (OXY Solve), because he had used it before and liked the results. I reviewed his request and agreed we could use his product for the job. I also went over what we would and would not be doing so expectations were clear before we started.
During our on-site check I pointed out several areas where the paint was bubbling. I explained that softwashing was the best route if repainting was not the goal, because most of the visible issues were dirt and grime from passing cars rather than failing siding. That helped frame the project as a cleaning job rather than a prep step for a paint job.
The scope of work for this project included an exterior softwash of the home and a hardscape softwash for the back patio, porches, retaining wall, and walkways. We focused on removing build-up from vehicle exhaust and road spray, along with general dirt accumulation that had collected on horizontal and vertical surfaces.
Using the customer-supplied Simple Green (OXY Solve), the team from Good Choices applied a softwash approach to the siding and the hardscape areas. Softwashing allowed us to remove grime without aggressive pressure that could harm the paint or nearby materials. We worked methodically, treating the siding first and then moving to the patio, porches, retaining wall, and walkways to make sure the entire exterior looked consistent when we finished.
The product performed well on both the house and the hardscape surfaces. Areas with heavy road grime showed visible improvement and the cement surfaces on the patio and walkways were noticeably cleaner. The bubbling paint areas remained noted as possible future repaint spots, but the cleaning removed the surface contaminants that made those spots more obvious.
When the work was complete the customer walked the property with us and approved the results. He said he liked how the house and hardscapes looked after the softwash. We left the site tidy and advised him to monitor the bubbling paint areas for any changes, since repainting would be the next step if the bubbles spread or the substrate started to deteriorate.
This exterior and hardscape softwash in Scappoose, OR used the customer’s preferred cleaner, met the agreed scope of work, and delivered the expected improvement in curb appeal and surface cleanliness for the homeowner. Good Choices appreciates the opportunity to work on projects like this and to help homeowners keep their exteriors looking their best.
